David qualified as a lawyer in Scotland and also has a law degree from England. He worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc.

Biography:

David Palmer has been Co-operative Housing Project Manager at the Wales Co-operative Centre since November 2012 and is currently looking to resume his previous role, while finishing coursework for his Community Led Housing Advisor qualification in England.

Dave Palmer has previously been a National Affordable Housing Programme Manager at Persimmon Homes (Westbury), with responsibility for their Homes and Communities Agency bids and program delivery in England. He has experience with housing associations of all sizes, including ones in Wales and England. He’s also been a secretary at a registered friendly society that renovated homes, and he’s on the board of an organization that is transferring to become a housing cooperative.

Shoosmiths Appoints David Palmer as New Head of Access Legal

Shoosmiths has announced the appointment of David Palmer to be the new head of our consumer legal services division, Access Legal. Palmer will oversee the future development of Access Legal, which has seen great success in its first 18 months.

We’re very pleased to announce that David is taking over from Judith. Judith has always been a valuable asset to Shoosmiths and she has spent months working on Access Legal with us. She will be moving into a new, exciting role as Head of Professional Services for all major clients.

Judith Dorkins, who is retiring from her current role to pursue other interests, commented on David taking over from her: “David is an experienced business leader who had developed success across a wide range of sectors.

“After speaking to him, it became apparent that he had the skills we were looking for and would be able to take Access Legal to the next level in the journey to become a leading & trusted provider of high-quality legal services.”

David’s illustrious career spans a wide range of roles including such jobs as director of the UK personal cards business of Citigroup, an international marketing expert with US private equity and investment banking group Robert W Baird and holding a role as both Director of Personal Customers Marketing.
